On Thursday, May 9 at 7:30 p.m., join the Ohio Arts Council at the Peebles Public Library to celebrate the publication of The Road Itself, a book of poetry by the late Aralee Strange.
Poet and playwright Aralee Strange lived on Peach Mountain in Adams County Ohio from 1992-2000. She wrote a series of poems which her friends referred to as “The Peach Mountain Psalms”. During her time in Adams County, and with the help of the Adams County Public Library’s Brenda Ballinger, Strange secured an Ohio Arts Council Artist-in-Residence grant and taught workshops to local high school students on both writing and poetry. After her death in 2013, her works were published by Dos Madres publishing company.
Join Director Nicholas Slone at the Adams County Public Library for a poetry reading hosted by the Ohio Arts Council, as we celebrate the publication of Aralee’s poetry with readings from her friends, the book’s editor Mark Flanigan, and Pauletta Hansel.
