Library News – 9/18/2020

The Adams County Public Library would like to thank everyone for your continued patience and support throughout this public health crisis. Our staff and patrons’ safety are our top priority, and we have been cautiously looking for ways to offer new services to our community through a phased reopening approach. As the most recent step in that approach, we are pleased to announce that starting Monday, September 21, all our locations will offer curbside and drive-thru services as well as in-library appointment services five days per week, Monday through Friday. Our curbside and drive-thru services remain exclusively for the pickup of items placed on hold, while our appointment services include in-library browsing, computer use, printing, faxing, and copying. Patrons can choose either a Grab-n-Go appointment, which includes browsing for library materials, making copies, and sending faxes, or reserve a public computer, which includes internet access and printing services. Individuals or families can make up to two 30-minute appointments per day, per individual or family, for a total of 60 minutes. For these appointments, everyone aged 2 and older will be required to wear a mask at all times in the building. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided to you at no charge.

Our new operating hours for each branch’s curbside, drive-thru, and appointment services (as of Monday, September 21) are as follows:

Remember, each Adams County Public Library location now offers a weekly Curbside After School Meal Program for children, ages 18 and under. In this program, each child will receive a bag of five balanced meals for the week, which children as well as parents and caregivers can pick up. These free meals are available for pickup from 3:30 p.m. till 4:30 p.m. at the West Union Library on Mondays, the Peebles Library on Tuesdays, the North Adams Library on Wednesdays, and the Manchester Library on Thursdays. To pick up your meals, please call the library upon your arrival and state the child’s name. The meals for this program are provided by the Children’s Hunger Alliance.
