Summer Reading Events:
Ages 6 & up: Learn electrical circuits by building a simple, hand-powered generator from DIY parts! How does electricity work? Can you generate it by hand? Compare wind power, mechanical energy, and electricity. Our hand-powered generator will power a light bulb. Join Trevin for this 90-minute hands-on science project.
Call 937-549-3359 to reserve your spot, as supplies are limited.
Participants ages 8 and up are invited to STEM Saturdays, a series of hands-on science and technology projects hosted at the Adams County Public Library. Guiding Ohio Online technology trainer Trevin Wolfe will lead science projects, computer coding classes, and STEM-related activities at each library. November’s theme is Electricity, and projects include learning about electrical circuits by building a simple generator from DIY parts, and experimenting with how electrical circuits work by using Snap Circuits to power lights, sirens, doorbells, motion sensors, and more.
Please call 937-386-0089 to request a special date and time for a group to attend, or call your local library to register small groups or individuals. All ages are welcome to participate, but activities are best suited for ages 8 and up.
STEM Saturdays are sponsored in part by Guiding Ohio Online, an LSTA grant awarded to the Adams County Public Library by the State Library of Ohio.
