STEM Saturdays is a series of hands-on science and technology learning activities for ages 8 and up at the library. Please call ahead to register, as space is limited.
In March, STEM Saturday features Ozobots. Design a course, draw a track, and tabletop robot Ozobot will follow it. Learn principles of programming and design planning by charting a course for Ozobots. Work with other teams to create a course, and race Ozobot through a series of feats to the finish.
STEM Saturdays are sponsored by Guiding Ohio Online, an LSTA Grant awarded by the State Library of Ohio. STEM Saturdays are hosted at each Adams County Public Library every month.
Ages 8 and up, join Tara at the West Union Library on Saturday, October 20 from 10:00 a.m. til 12:45 p.m. for STEM Saturday. Come create your very own short spooky stop-motion animated movie, just in time for Halloween. We’ll provide the stop-motion animation camera, software, and some props and figures, and you bring a plot and design! Save your short movie to take with you on Google Drive, YouTube, or a flash drive, and share your spooky creation with others, if you wish. For more information, call Tara at 937-544-2591. This activity works best for one participant at a time, so call 937-544-2591 to reserve a time slot in advance.
Ages 8 and up can join Michael at the Manchester Library on Saturday, October 27 between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. for STEM Saturday. Come explore how binary code works, and get some practice with binary programming by building bead jewelry that spells out a message in binary code. For more information, call Michael at 937-549-3359.
